A wonderful conversation with Ken Bloom. Ken is a resident of small-town Pilot Mountain, NC with extensive knowledge of Ukrainian Culture and History; as well as a clear understanding of the current issues within the country.
On the surface, it would seem we got incredibly side-tracked on this one, enamoured by Ken's unique story. However, the land aspect IS there; interwoven within the discussions about music, instruments and their origins, and the deep history of Europe. Either way, it was an excellent discussion for us all as well as an introduction and sample of the Bondura; an old Ukrainian intrument with many many strings.
